The above quote comes from astrophysicist Dr. Eric Davis, Senior Research Physicist at the Institute for Advanced Studies at Austin, and CEO/Chief Scientist of Warp Drive Metrics, earning his Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Arizona. He’s provided contract services to the Air Force Research Laboratory, the Department of Energy, the NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts, and the Department of Defense.
WWWHis paper on quantum vacuum zero-point energy won an award from the Space Technology & Applications International Forum (2007). He’s also authored many papers on traversable wormholes, warp drives, laser propulsion, teleportation physics and advanced propulsion concepts. Dr. Davis is also a Fellow of the British Interplanetary Society and Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics.
WWWFor decades scientists have avoided discussing or hypothesizing about UFOs for various reasons. Many are just flat out skeptics mainly because there’s scant hard evidence of UFO existence. Others are terrified of ridicule ruining their reputation if they were to engage the subject. Eric Davis points out he knows many colleagues who are investigating the phenomenon privately and quietly, He states,
There are scientists who are aware of evidence and observational data that is not refutable. It is absolutely corroborated, using forensic techniques and methodology, but they won’t come out and publicize that because they fear it. Not the subject; they fear the backlash from their professional colleagues—the impact on their career might be detrimental and they’d get bad publicity.
He regrettably admonishes the scientific community for not recognizing the UFO phenomenon as an acceptable area of research, in fact the National Science Foundation doesn’t accept UFOs as a subject of scientific study. He adds,
They’re wrong, naïve, stubborn, narrow-minded, afraid and fearful. It’s a dirty word and a forbidden topic. Science is about open-minded inquiry, you shouldn’t be laughing off people, you should show more deference and respect to them…Scientists need to get back to using the scientific method to study things that are unknown and unusual, and the UFO subject is one of them.
Over the last half-century there have been tens of thousand of UFO sightings worldwide. Fighter pilots have chased them, astronauts in orbit have viewed them, astronomers have sighted them, airline pilots have observed them and hundreds of people have witnessed the phenomenon simultaneously. From my viewpoint, something real is happening up there, and the blind arrogance of ridiculing and denying it has become very old. Dr. Eric Davis may be the lone courageous voice and catalyst to galvanize serious scientific query and investigation into this enigma at long last.
WWWMany in power may fear the answer of such a study if the conclusion were to affirm the reality of UFOs. Scores of egos in the Department of Defense wouldn’t be able to deal with nor acknowledge the prospect of something traversing our skies they know nothing about. In the 1940s the U.S. Air Force charged an astronomer, and UFO skeptic, with explaining them away, becoming the scientific consultant for Project Blue Book for twenty years. His name, Dr. Allen Hynek. Below is a video of him discussing UFOs and astronomers. ©Joe Arrigo
